
Wageningen University and Research Student Activities at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu
Two students from Wageningen University and Research (WUR), the Netherlands, are undertaking a two-month research attachment under the supervision of academic staff and researchers from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bengkulu (UNIB). On Tuesday, 18 November 2025, the students—Mr. Jasper Jan Willem Hesling and Ms. Benedict Andriana Maria Johanna Leus paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suharyanto, S.Pt., M.Si., at the Dean’s Office. They were accompanied by Dr. Yenny Sariasih, S.P., M.Si., an expert in citrus plant pathology, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwinardi Apriyanto, M.Sc., an entomology specialist from the Department of Plant Protection, as well as representatives from Arconesia, the faculty’s field-based partner institution. The Vice Deans joined the Dean: Prof. Heri Dwi Putranto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Dr. Mustopa Romdhon, M.Si.; and Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, S.P., M.Si.
Over the course of two months, both students, affiliated with the Plant Sciences Department at WUR, will conduct research in Plant Protection. Wageningen University and Research is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading institutions in agricultural and life sciences, consistently ranked among the top in the QS World University Rankings (Top 100 World-Class Universities).
This program marks the second occasion in which WUR students have undertaken academic and field activities at the Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB, as part of the ongoing collaboration between UNIB and WUR.
